Alison+Sam+Alijah=Cuteness!

Alison is friends with a few of my past clients and we were kinda introduced to each other on Facebook. I started following her pictures of her little monkey Alijah and she has been following my work on our Fan page. And finally we got the chance to meet the wonderful family this week in my beloved Mountain House. (Which I do miss...)

The family drove out all the way from Sacramento to meet us out in the open fields for a fun day chasing rabbits and birds, floating red balloons and lots of laughter from little Alijah. One of my most relaxed and fun Lifestyle sessions to date. I look forward to see more of this family and watching their love grow through the years. Enjoy!

The location Pelican Inn at Muir Beach. What a beautiful sweet location for a sweet couple. The couple chose their favorite spot for the shoot...a beautiful old English inn, with a beautiful English garden. A bit of homage to Adam's English ancestry.

Nanette and Adam are an amazing couple. My thoughts after the first meeting with these guys..."wow..such giving people with great heart!" The couple both work with young special needs children. A job that I truly admire. The difficult days are many..but as Nanette said during our first meeting "it's the small accomplishments that make it worth while." That stuck with me.

I got the opportunity to meet the rest of the gang last Thursday evening. Nanette brought along her two children A&B...so cute and active. They kept my assistant Mailee totally busy.

We then headed out to the beach.

I woke up on Sunday morning helping my husband pack for yet another trip to Korea and pack my gear for another engagement session. All prepped and ready to go...I got a call from my bride very distraught that her fiancee has woken up with an allergic reaction and has a huge swollen eye. I felt bad for him, because just the day before shooting in the fields up in Santa Teresa, I had major allergy attack too! So we rescheduled.

I then drove my hubby to SFO, kissed him good-bye and headed back home. I spent the afternoon catching up on my office work and editing. But by mid-afternoon - I was antsy and was really feeling bummed about not going out to shoot on such a beautiful day. So I sent out a FB post for a FREE shoot if you can make it at 6pm.

I got a message from a high school friend and my bride from last year...who is now a mommy! I so wanted to get the opportunity to meet her little man. So long story short - I took the opportunity to meet the little guy and get the shooting bug out of my system as well. =)

We spent a lot of time catching up and playing with little Max. So there were only a few shots taken..but he was ooh so cute in each one! Meet baby Max he's a little over 1 month new.

It's been a whirlwind of a week. But we are officially moved back to the South Bay and will be here until I'm dragged out by my teeth, cause moving has been so tiring!!

I took a break on Sunday from my packing, cleaning, moving and unpacking duties to spend some time with Kathy & Ray from San Jose, California. It's ground-hog day today and it's grey, sprinkling and the sky is about ready to start pouring. If I didn't have the opportunity to spend a beautiful spring-like day this past Sunday in field of beautful wild flowers for a portrait shoot. I would probably be convinced that spring is very far away. But, I did spend last Sunday in the beautiful sunshine capturing the pregnancy of one of my favorite couples.

Tam and Jeff have been featured here on my blog before (wedding 8.8.08). It is such a beauiful blessing to be able to document growth of a couples love. From engagements, to wedding and pregnancy and the arrival of their first most precious gift.

I was very honored to have Tam and Jeff ask me to capture this very important memory. I hope you enjoy these beautiful images. This truely symblizes to me the awaiting of life and the warmth of spring to come. Congratulations kiddos and I cannot wait to meet your little princess.

New Year New Look

Well since my last blog post was about reflection on 2009. This blog post is about moving forward for 2010. Notice anything new? Yes I've completely changed our portfolio and blog layout and finalized my logo. And what better day than today to launch the new look. This totally completes my transition from web/graphic designer & part-time wedding/lifestyle photographer to a full time wedding & lifestyle photographer running on my own. Fail or Succeed it's all in my hands now.

Reflection on 2009: The Best of the Best Contest

This 1st month of the New Year is coming to an end in few days. Time just seems to fly when your as old as I am I guess. 2009 has been really wonderful to me, I got the opportunity to grow dramatically in my photography skills and as a person as well. I'm not the social butterfly by any means...I'm a bit shy. But thanks to the so many wonderful couples who I've meet with in the past year and their wonderful family and friends who embraced me into their world just for one day... I was actually that social butterfly prancing around to capture such beautiful moment. And at every corner I was greeting with a smile.

In 2009 we doubled in wedding booking and we are hoping to be doubling that number in 2010 - now that I am dedicated full time as a Wedding & Portrait Photographer. Available 7 days a week! =)

So looking back here are a few of my favorite shots of 2009 a collection from wedding photography, event photography, family portrait, senior portraits, children & newborn photography. Teddy a big lovable hunk stopped by yesterday afternoon for his senior shoot. This was our second rescheduled shoot due to our wet weather lately. The forecast said no rain. But as soon as we headed out from my place those ominous clouds rolled in and I prayed it was just passing clouds...no luck. It began to pour! Since we were already out we shot in overhang covered areas and drove towards Tracy to outrun the rain. It worked. Teddy's girlfriend Christy and mom

Miya & Jeff, you were cutting it really close. Your email arrived in my mailbox at 11:59PM. Whew! Our one last story for the night.

Couple #4: Miya & Jeff's Story

We were sixteen years old when we first met...

To make an epic story (a tad) more concise, Jeff and I had admired one another from afar for almost a year before we were set up by our close friends. I needed a date for my junior prom. Jeff's best friends were dating my closest girlfriends at the time and they all thought it would be a great idea to get us to go to prom together. It was the night that started everything. We instantly clicked and conversations flowed like water. From that night on, we were inseparable. We spent the rest of our high school career together, young, and crazy in love. When it was time to start thinking about college, I decided to follow him and attend the same college he was planning on attending. Awesome decision for an eighteen year old in the midst of her first love, right?? Not so much (duh).

We spent the majority of our freshman year in college fighting like cats and dogs. While in love, we were too young to think to compromise in order to make our relationship work. We both knew that we would always love each other, but right before Thanksgiving of our sophomore year in college, we decided it was no longer a healthy choice for us to stay together.

During the time we were apart we were able to focus on ourselves and finishing school. In addition, we both dated around and enjoyed being single, for a while. We reunited nearly two years later and have been together ever since. It has been over ten years.

This past December a few days before Christmas he proposed by taking me to all of the significant places in our relationship and then asking me on a park bench. It was perfect, for us.

Soulmate Contestants #4 Kathy and Danny

We will be starting our first day of voting for the Soulmates Contest tomorrow. I sat down this evening to start preparing for tomorrow's blog entry for the voting process when low and behold, one last entry for the contest pops up in my mail box. Thank you to all the wonderful couples who have shared their story with us over the past month. I have enjoyed each and every story, but in the end it's not up to me - I wish everyone the best of luck and we will be posting the voting polls tomorrow afternoon.

Couple #4: Kathy & Danny's Story

This story begins four and half years ago on May 19th 2005.

He was a high school senior just three weeks away form graduation and she was a freshman looking forward to the next few of years that would end her childhood. It was just two days from prom. Kathy really wanted to go with her friends but couldn’t because she wasn’t a senior. Danny wanted to go but his date canceled. They weren’t looking, but they found each other.

May 21st, 2005

Right before prom (on the right)

He was nervous when he picked her up. He was so nervous, it took him almost 10 minutes to open up the corsage box. Neither of them knew how the night would turn out or whether they would even enjoy it. It turned out to be one of the best nights either of them would ever have.

While Danny and Kathy were waiting to go home, they both saw a star dart across the sky. She told him to make a wish while she did the same. Danny would tell you what he wished for but then it wouldn’t come true and it holds great importance to his future plans. Her wish however was a little more obvious. She batted her eyes and puckered her lips, and who could blame her. But he was gentleman and he didn’t kiss on the first date, besides it was a lot more fun watching her squirm in anticipation. So that night ended with a nice hug and a “good night” at her doorstep. She was dying for a kiss, but for him it was a perfect ending to a great night.

May 23, 2005
Two days later, they were already on the phone talking about their feelings. It was obvious what Kathy wanted, but she wasn’t sure what was on his mind. So she asked, “What do you want?” He said, in the softest, most honest whisper, “I want YOU.” and that was it. One date and they were in love.

June 1st, 2005
She was in concert choir, and (lucky for her) he was in chamber choir. That meant that both of them would be going on the end of the year trip to Santa Cruz. The ride there was beautiful. It was great getting to spend time together before Danny graduated. Just ten more days until he would leave. Yup, leave. “Hey, Danny? How long will you be going for?” Someone asked. “Thirteen weeks,” he said quietly. “Shhh, she doesn’t like to think about it.” Kathy gave a glare and then pretended nothing was happening. She didn’t like to think about him going away to boot camp. In just 10 days he would be in the Marine Corps unable to see her, talk to her, or even finish getting to know her.

But that time they spent was enough. They wrote back and forth. They stayed and even grew in love. And after what seemed like forever, Danny returned. But the hard part wasn’t over yet. Danny was only there for the weekend, because on Monday, he had to be 3 and a half hours away for his first day at Chico State. He was already three weeks late, and couldn’t stay even a minute longer. And so, after all that waiting, they said good-bye again.

October 2006
A year and half went by and it became harder and harder to make it work. They were both in separate places. She was a teenager and he was a man. They wanted different things and in the end went their separate ways. Throughout the time they were apart they were the best of friends. And for 2 years, that‘s what they were. It was in that time that their love matured and became whole.

Being best friends, Danny went over to Kathy’s house to help her apply for college. They used Chico State as their foundation. Kathy went through the process and completed the form with no intention of attending. She saw it as practice and some could say a “back-up”. For even while Danny and Kathy dated, she had no intention of joining Danny. Since he was 3 years older, they would only be there a year together and that didn’t seem worth it.

October, 2007
Low and behold, Kathy received her letter of acceptance just two weeks after submitting the application. And after some careful thinking, realized she didn’t want to turn down a school that so obviously wanted her. Unfortunately, Kathy had some life difficulties during her senior year and did not qualify to attend, and assumed she was unaccepted and moved on with her life.

About three weeks before fall, Kathy received a letter informing her she was still accepted and welcome to attend in the fall. But Kathy had gotten a good job just two months before and didn’t want to lose it. Kathy told her boss, who then called their district, and that day Kathy was transferred to Chico; no questions asked! It seemed like it was meant to be.

September, 2008
Finally, Danny and Kathy were reunited. There was no discussion about it, it just was. It was a perfect fall and start to their new found love as adults. Kathy was looking forward to Halloween in Chico, when suddenly, her plans were interrupted. Danny was being deployed in November to Iraq. And the waiting begins.

December, 2009
Now back from Iraq, Kathy and Danny cannot wait any longer. Everything seemed to have fallen into place at the right time, effortlessly. They’ve had a great 4 and half years and now, there is no doubt in their minds that this is true love and that true love can last though the ages. No matter how much time passes, how many miles in between, or how many years apart they are in age, they have grown together; they have made it.

I just love love small intimate weddings. Carolyn and Aran got married on a wet, foggy and rainy day but it was the most romantic, simple, and organic setting I've wittness to date. In attendance a handful of people, literally a total of 10 guests!

Carolyn and I were introduced by Wedding Coordinator Erica of Erica by the Sea. After a couple phone calls and email exchanges the date was set. I was so in love with Carolyn's plans, details and her location. How much more romantic can it get... And when the wedding day come and I got to meet Carolyn and Aran...I feel in love with the couple and their lovely family too! I am blessed to be able to witness these wonderful love stories unfold.

Dawn has got to be one of my favorite brides I have had the honor to work with this year. She is so fun-loving, cheerful and so much fun to be around. Dawn and Jesse overcame the challenges of venue bankruptcy, hotel cancellations, and bad weather - the rained out engagement session. But through it all, come wedding day, it all fell into place and was a perfect day for the perfect couple who found each other "At Last". This 11 hour wedding day blew by in a breeze thanks to the great team Dawn assembled and such a fun wedding party, huge family, entertaining DJ (one of the best I've experienced) and of course wonderful Bride and Groom!

Couple #1: Irene & David's story

How we met:
When people ask us how we met, we’ll give you one of two answers: “through a friend”, would be the more traditional answer, and “online dating” would be kind of answer we’d reply with accompanied by a playful chuckle. Both of which are true.

You can say it all started at this fateful church organized snow trip in February of 2007. Irene was a new kid at church, all naïve, fresh out of college, fresh out of her first relationship, and starting her first job as a corporate entry-level peon, but I guess you can say that she was bright-eyed and bushy tailed none the less. Dave was 2 years out of school (GO BLUE), in his fast paced gig as a “glamorous” consultant for a leading IT consulting firm, glamorous meaning he got to spend 3 life changing (and paid) months in Italy to “work” but then at the same time he also had to sleep in a conference room one time to pull an all-nighter for an other project (whole other story). So pretty much nothing of real note actually happened at this “fateful” snow trip really, other than the fact that Dave noticed that there was this cute new girl, and that Irene didn’t notice anybody but did sleep on the ground next to a coffee table for two nights. On the way back from the trip, Irene and Dave went their separate ways. Dave stopped to have dinner in Davis and asked his friend Brandon who “that girl” was. Coincidentally, Brandon went to school and the same bible study group as Irene. At the end of dinner, Dave jokingly (seriously, I was totally joking) said to put in a good word for him. Brandon took that as his cue to play matchmaker. Little did Dave know that Brandon has a great gift of persistence, which would pay off in the form of his own relationship/marriage, but also bear fruit in the form of setting up Irene and Dave.

Brandon took pretty much every opportunity to put in a plug for Dave. Even when Irene was on a double date with another guy, while the guy was in the bathroom, Brandon would still put in a good word for Dave. So after a good two months, and a handful of so-so suitors, Irene was feeling pretty full of herself one day at work, Brandon was sending Irene links to Dave’s xanga page (b/c that’s when everyone still actually used xanga) and she was feeling pretty bold enough to act on Brandon’s invitation to talk to Dave online, so she IM’ed Dave on AIM, and they hit it off pretty quickly with all the small talk, Irene liked playing mind games with Dave. But Dave wasn’t fooled. He got right to the point. He asked her why she was even talking to him in the first place, Irene was so amused by this, because she felt that she had the upper hand the whole time, she already knew Dave had the hots for her. So she played dumb, but Dave just outted himself, “yeah, so what I think you’re cute…” Irene was dumbfounded by this, but she also liked how Dave just cut through all the nonsense. This was the very beginning of how Dave has continuously caught her attention over and over again. After that, things started to get more real, no more mind games.

The proposal:
So our engagement was really no shocker. Let’s just put that out there. First of all, we had started our pre-engagement counseling with the pastor at our church about a year before we got engaged. We already had a pretty good idea that we wanted to head into that direction, but it was also nice to feel some validation by taking a course that gave us a sobering idea of what marriage would really be like, and to come out of that still wanting to spend the rest of your life with the other person. Secondly, Dave had the opportunity to speak in front of the church congregation about his testimony, and also told everyone that he was in the market for buying an engagement ring, GASP! (Irene was so embarrassed when everyone started looking for her in the congregation… kind of like a roll up and die embarrassment.) Thirdly, Dave and Irene went ring shopping and got a custom mold made for her engagement ring. Dave really liked the idea of being able to propose with the ring that would be the ring Irene would be wearing forever. So there really was no element of surprise other than when and how Dave would be proposing, but that was good enough for Irene.

So after approving the custom mold for the ring, Irene was very eager for the ring to be made, she was so sure it was going to happen in November, before Thanksgiving. She was REALLY hoping for the proposal to happen before her trip to LA (mid-Nov) so she could show off her ring to her friends. Dave crushed all these hopes when he said that the jeweler told him that the ring would be ready in 6 agonizing weeks. Irene immediately went to her calendar and counted out 6 weeks from the date they approved the mold. That would be November 28th. Now Irene’s predictions shifted from a November to an early December proposal. So with that in mind, she went to LA and had fun, explained her early December proposal theory to her friends when they were disappointed to not see a ring on that finger! She had a little too much fun in LA when she MISSED HER FLIGHT BACK on Sunday!!!

Meanwhile, while Irene was in LA, Dave was meeting with Greg, the jeweler, who luckily was able to get the ring completed before the 6 week deadline. Greg was in on the shenanigans too. While Dave and Irene were ring shopping, Irene had no idea that Dave had already found the diamond earlier, so when they found the perfect setting for her ring, Greg suggested that Irene try on the diamond-less setting with a “random” diamond so she could get a better idea of what her ring would look like when a diamond was set into the ring. When Greg put it together, it was all soooooooooooooooo perfect. Greg had actually put the diamond that Dave had picked earlier into the ring (Dave and Greg were exchanging silent fist pumps and thumbs up to each other behind Irene’s back as she was mesmerized by the diamond). Of course Irene didn’t know this because when they walked into the store, since Dave and Greg pretended it was like the first time they had ever met, despite their earlier meeting that same day. So once Dave had the fully completed ring, he decided that he was going to propose to Irene the next day when she got back from LA. He was so nervous the first night that he had to sleep with the ring box because he was so scared to lose it. Then, Sunday morning he woke up, opened up the ring box to check if the ring was still there. To Dave’s glee, the ring was still there.

The original plan was for Dave to have dimsum with Jackie and Al in the morning (Irene told Dave to save her a dan tat, a Chinese egg custard tart, for her when he comes to pick her up), then to pick up Irene and her friend from the airport at 11:30am, drop off Irene’s friend, and drive down to San Jose to go to the Skidazzle (snowboarding convention) and then straight to church. What was not in the plan was Irene calling Dave at 10am saying that she missed her flight, and that she and her friend was on stand-by for a full flight that was at 11:55am. If they did not make this flight, the next available flight would be at 4pm. 4pm was not good news. Irene was pretty pissed at herself, she told Dave that she would know if she got on to the next flight around 11:25am and that she would call him back. This threw a wrench into Dave’s plans, but he remained calm and collected. He didn’t say a peep during dimsum about the pending proposal to his friends (Dave was Al’s best man). When 11:25am came around, Irene came back with the amazing news that she is going to make the 11:55am flight. Utter relief sets in. Dave gets off the phone, and calmly explains to Jackie and Al that he will be proposing in 2 hours. Jackie didn’t believe him, then her expression of disbelief slowly turned into stress when she realized that Dave was for real, and that they only had 2 hours to get everything ready for the proposal.

Irene and her friend arrive at the airport, and Dave doesn’t come out of the car to greet them with a hug like he usually does for in his jacket pocket he had a huge box hidden. Irene didn’t take notice. She just threw her stuff in to the trunk and hopped in to the car. Dave handed her the dan tat that he promised. She happily shared it with her friend as they dropped her off, to go pick up their friends for the convention. Dave has Bluetooth in his car so when people call him, Irene can hear them on speaker. So Al called Dave overly theatrical saying that it was such a gorgeous day, and that his wife of 3 months was CRAVING ice cream, so they are enjoying the nice weather with their ice cream at Leo J. Ryan Park in Foster City . Al kept repeating how great the weather was, and how much Jackie was craving ice cream. Instantly Irene’s spideysenses were going off. Something is up. Al is way too happy about the good weather. JACKIE MUST BE PREGNANT! So the whole way to the park Irene was obsessed with the idea of her friend being knocked up 3 months into their marriage, which pretty much derailed her of any suspicion that the proposal was on the horizon.

Upon arrival to the park, Dave waved to Al and Jackie who were waiting with a camcorder all set up in the bushes as they sat under the waterfront gazebo. Also Dan, another friend was hiding behind the bathroom was ready to pop out to snap pictures with the camera. Jackie greeted Irene by saying that she brought her ice cream because Cold Stone had a buy one get one free coupon, as Irene walked closer to the ice cream cup, it was empty. So she figured that was Jackie’s empty cup and looked around for her cup but noticed that Jackie and Al’s attention was diverted behind her, so she turned around and Dave was walking slowly towards her with two dan tats in his hands. One said YES and the other said NO. The only thing that went through Irene’s mind was maybe a half a second of denial and then “CRAP, its happening.”

What was in Dave’s original plan, was for Irene to walk up to him (into the light, because the gazebo was too shady for pictures) and that would be where the proposal would take place. But in her utter shock, she just ended up planting herself in the gazebo, so Dave had to walk over to her. She took BOTH the dan tats into her hands. She was not sure if she should take “yes” or take both and hand Dave the “yes” but then at the same time, Dave needed both hands to take out the box and put on the ring. So she ended up just putting down the “no” and holding the “yes” in her hands. Dave got down on one knee and said a bunch of stuff that both of them don’t really remember, but what they DO remember is that they both share a guilty pleasure of watching reality garbage. So Dave did what came naturally, he said, “Irene, you still have a shot at love, are you interested?” Irene was so overwhelmed by the beauty of the ring that she immediately replied with “THANK YOU!!” she probably said thank you like 5 times before she said yes. She figured that holding the “yes” dan tat would have sufficed. Dave put the ring on her finger, and asks, “Do you like it? (the ring)” and while she was still holding the “yes” dan tat in her hands Irene replied with yes! “I mean the ring!!!” Dave said in disbelief that an egg tart would take precedence over this ring that caused him to stir all night.

FYI: Dave’s original original plan was to propose in this special place in Italy (he knew this before even meeting Irene). Then that changed to proposing on the top a mountain in Tahoe two weeks after getting the ring, but then Dave nixed that idea the more he thought about it when the thought of losing the ring crossed his mind. Finally, he decided that Leo J. Ryan Park would be the perfect backdrop because of the beautiful waterfront views, and also the significance this park held in the foundation of Dave and Irene’s relationship, for they spent copious nights walking up and down the waterfront talking for hours about their relationship, their future, their pasts, their friends and their families. Also, at one very brief point Irene though about having their wedding ceremony there. In Al’s defense, it really was a perfect day outside, and Jackie was not pregnant after all. BOO!!

This is going to be a long one.

One of my many favorite things about being a wedding photographer is being on the inside during the wedding and when it's on the inside of an old friends wedding it's all the better. Meaning I'm there to see it all... it is my job after all. To see the little details and capture the hustle and bustle and the happiness that surrounds a household on a wedding day.

On September 5th, 2009, I arrived at a private estate and found a full house with sister's and brother's, nieces and nephews all running around and it was chaos but harmonic all at once. My was calm, serene and glowing. She was ready. My and Thang have been dating for as long as I can remember back to my high school years. Over 15 year together and through out the day, it can be overheard over and over "finally - it's about time!"

The wedding was held at a private estate in Danville, California. It was an intimate affair with only close friends and family. It was small, intimate, and perfect. Now for the eye candy!

The next day we headed out to San Francisco for the "Day After" portrait session at 8am! Come back tomorrow to see the post!

This blog post is long overdue. John and Francine were married on August 15, 2009 at the Brookside Country Club in Stockton, California. What a gorgeous wedding in such a wonderful setting. The wedding revolved around the bride's Hawaiian heritage. Beautiful bright tropical foliage adorned the ceremony and reception site. Unique one of a kind Lei's were given to family members instead of boutonnières. The wedding entertainment was provided by family and friends. Francine a hula dancer performed for her husband a beautiful dance. It was a site to see.

Francine's dress was hand made by her grandmother.

Summer Days

Fall is here...the days are getting shorter and colder. It has been awefully cold in our house and were using the heaters already at night. I ran across this past summer's family session I shot for Nary & Jocelyn and it reminded me of the warm summer breezes. I love summer. I've been MIA on my blog lately... I have lots to update. But for now here is a sneak peek of Dawn & Jesse's Engagement photos shot in San Francisco.

There is an air of classic sophistication between these two souls. Dawn is a History professor and Jesse a musician... I feel a great sense of culture to be had between these two. But that's as far as the sophistication goes... no snootiness here. Dawn is so light hearted and laughs through it all. We got rained out on our first e-session, her venue closed down, the reserved hotel went bankrupt...but Dawn told me all this with giggles and laughter. I enjoyed my time with these two souls and so looking forward to the big day.

Hawaii Vacation

Whew! We are back from Hawaii and ready to tackle all the emails/voicemails/facebook messages etc. etc... Hawaii was awesome! I got a major tan that will probably last me til next year! Got a road rash souvinour at Hanauma Bay... Time to get back to work. We'll try to get a response back to you guys as soon as we can.

I figured Angela & George were pretty big San Francisco Giants fans when they requested to have their engagement session taken at AT&T Park this past June. I knew the wedding colors were orange black and white, but a Giants themed wedding reception - AWESOME! It was just perfect.

The wedding was held at beautiful Peachwood's in Santa Cruz, California. It was a perfectly warm California day for a wedding.

The bride and groom were radiant - surrounded by loving family at all times. I love the connections I make as a photographer - not only with the bride & groom but with the family and friends. It was a blast of a wedding and I even got to sit at the same table at one of my brides for next year.

Congratulations Angela & George. It was such an honor to be able to share in celebration of your love. Your love has stood through the test of time over the past 12 years...and we wish you the very best in the new chapter in your lives.

Detour

This post is a little different from the norm. I took a detour home today and decided to take a turn onto a road I have never been on. Just to see what was there. I found a really nice calm and pleasant scenery. Some may think deserted and plain. But I found serene undisturbed beauty.

I can honestly say Francine and John by far the most playful and funniest couple I have met. Through out the entire engagement shoot John and Francine cracked us up! Which helped keep our minds off how freaking cold it was in San Francisco that day. I am really looking forward to a fun wedding from these two.

I was a bit under the weather yesterday and still not fully 100% myself yet today. I took the day to relax at home and catch up on some editing. Jamie dropped by in the afternoon and we decided heck it's beautiful outside lets go do the one thing that always makes me feel better...let's shoot.

My sister in laws baby shower was held on the first hottest heat wave to hit the valley this year. By 10AM the temperature was past the 3 digit mark. It was a hot one.

Neri's second baby. It's the little boy we've all been waiting for!

We sisters worked on the decor the whole night before and spent all morning in the heat to put together. I think Neri liked it.

Going back into work again after a very long extended weekend in Socal. If only I could shoot full-time. One day... I'm slowly working towards that goal. Slowly.

This weekend is going to be great. My mother and siblings will be back from Vietnam tomorrow. They have been on vacay for a whole month. I miss them. Then Friday Fidel is home...I really miss him. And then the 4th...yay! it's gonna be a good one. Everyone will be home where they belong. Have a great hump day. Only 1 day left til the weekend.

We celebrated my Padrino's Parent's 48th Wedding Anniversary with a big family BBQ out by the River in Merced. It was a beautiful day. I notice that the one thing I enjoy most during these events is that I get to see how the little ones grow. Every couple of weeks or months when we get together there's always some little change that's so wonderful to see. Yeah i know... major signs of my bio-clock ringing ;)

Angela a school teacher was steered my way through our mutual friend Tam. I noticed Angela & George's fun, easy going and lovable nature the first time we met. The way they tease and smile at each other is so cute. They seem to have an intimacy that is beyond lovers... a kind of connection of true friendship and soul mates who found love. I had a great time capturing this chemistry between the two.

I've been carrying my camera around with me on my commute this past week. On my drive alone... I find myself taking the back roads just a savor the beautiful landscape in the evening. And I'm always wanting to pull the car over and capture all that beauty. But I'm always thinking...I'll do it tomorrow. I'll capture it next time. Laziness! This is what you miss when you don't stop.

If ms. j seems familiar to you ... it's because I've shot with her before. ms.j modeled for me last summer and her images have been so ever popular amongst my clients and have been asked to reproduce the same look.

She is finally a senior this year and I have been looking forward to working with her again. One thing about ms.j she's so into fashion and style and always looks fabulous. She took control of the artistic style ... setting up appointments with the Ripon Fire Department to use the classic fire engine. Planning her outfits to match the cobalt blue classic mustang. She personalized her session to her fit who she is. And I tell this to many of my Seniors ... make it personal select a destination or site that captures who you are at this moment in time bring props (she brought a fire engine and a mustang!). I hope all my seniors this year are as fearless and cool as ms.j. Enjoy.
